Commercial Vehicle Solutions announced that its new lite electric central drivetrain has entered series production. By using synergies from the development and production of passenger car drives, the new drive system is suitable for use in light commercial vehicles.


Designed as a highly integrated electric motor, CeTrax lite benefits manufacturers worldwide by specifically supporting zero-emission deliveries over the last mile and in urban areas. The technology has already received orders from Asia and America. Production began in Friedrichshafen, using the Group’s know-how in passenger car technology.


The technology supports the architecture of conventionally powered vehicles and the electrification strategies of automobile manufacturers. Use of self-developed components and broader synergies of eMobility systems, including shared testbeds in Friedrichshafen.


Designed for light commercial vehicles up to one tonne, it offers maximum power and torque. The streamlined, compact design helps maximize space for electrical components and batteries. Computer to develop cars for next-generation cars; looking toward autonomy


Cars and are collaborating to develop a sophisticated and powerful entry-level computer for the next generation of automobiles. The mainframe is based on the technology and will allow Cars to implement an advanced computing platform for its new cars on its upcoming Scalable Product Architecture automotive platform. The first car with the new central computer will appear early in the next decade.


The agreement will deepen the existing collaboration and partnership between Cars and . Last year, the companies began working together on advanced systems and software for self-driving cars.


The new computing platform will leverage advances and computing power to enable Cars to make significant advances in the implementation of advanced driver assistance systems, energy management technologies and in-car customization options.


By adding advanced tilt detection capabilities and a driver monitoring system, the base computer will help Cars safely introduce fully self-driving cars.
